We recently sold our 2017 Yukon and looking to buy a low mileage 2012 Yukon 4x4. The dealer sent me a picture of the window sticker and it says it has the HD towing package with the 3.42 gears but I thought that package also included an integrated brake controller that is located below the 4x4 switch on the left of the steering wheel. Attached is a pic of the original window sticker. I plan to make the long drive on Friday and would like to confirm the towing package. Any help would be appreciated.

most vehicles ive done towing equipment on with and without tow packages. the integrated brake controller is an extra option ontop of a towing package. towing package is generally an aux trans cooler rear hitch receiver and the wiring is already under the truck and in the dash ready for the electronics. sometimes they come with the rear plug 4way or 7way but alot of times its just that the wires are already run for the brake system.

Ask the dealer to send some pictures of the dash area like the picture you posted.

Jimmy, that truck is rated to tow 8,200 pounds but does not appear to have the JL1 Integrated Trailer Brake Controller. Wires for an aftermarket controller are under the dash and near the fuse box under the hood. You can ask the dealer to send you a photo of the RPO sheet and look for JL1. Mine is listed on the window sticker right after the 2nd Row Bucket Seats.

But as long as it has the higher towing capacity then an aftermarket brake controller is too easy. As far as my screen name, Couldn’t think of a good name at the time. But definitely took care of a bunch of Apache pilots, crew chiefs etc in Afghanistan. Now I’m a medic with a infantry unit and a cardiac RN on the civilian side. Here’s a pic of the rpo plate and dash without the brake controller.

Thanks for the info. It appears it has the higher towing package but no integrated brake controller. I added a pic of both the dash and the rpo plate.

That's a super clean interior, should be a nice truck.
