Got a McGuaghy's 3/5 kit and since I work at shop I've been using the lift to get it installed. I can't hog up a whole bunch of time, so I put on the part of the kit for the rear and this week I'll work on the front. I am not driving it, leaving it at work while I do all this.

But here is my question (or rather info related to my question):
The instructions note that I need to move the sway bar bushings (that hold it to the axle) about 2" towards the inside on both sides. In order to do this I would've needed to drill a hole for each bracket to attach.

Well I didn't. Sway bar is pretty close to sitting horizontal, less than 1/2" from being so. I do not have drop shocks installed and I probably need to redo the bumpstops.

Just wondering what the point of moving the brackets further inward would've been or should i still do it? Nothing binds or rubs, I can't figure out the point of doing that would've been. I have a few pictures on my phone I think if that helps.

Here are some pictures of what I'm looking at on the rear, the instructions in the kit had some poor photos, so this may help someone else as well.

you move the brackets so it moves the sway bar so the middle doesn't hit the pumpkin of your rear end. If you're not hitting it, no need to move it.

Gotcha, I don't think it's hitting, I would've noticed... I think lol

Thanks for the reply! I knew there was something I didn't get.

get some shock extenders they will help the ride due to fixing swybar angle.

Im surprised they didnt change the rear link design in rear with zerks and nice bends

I agree about the shock extenders, I'm kind of put off that the kit didn't come with them. But it is what it is. Not too worried about the sway link kits not having the zerks, I plan on upgrading sway bars and such once I figure out a few more things on it.
