Question about tires 285/45/22 vs 305/40/22

Actually I lie, a couple of weeks ago I backed up slowly up a hill at full lock at it rubbed slightly.

Serge, your wheels are rubbing at full lock on your power boards. If you have regular running boards and are stock height, you should have no rubbing at all.

Plus mine is 4x4 which has a little more height to it. Discount said they should clear.

Question though since the oem
Wheels are 8.5 and the 305 /40 is for 9.5-10.5 will that add to the sidewall height?
Look bubbly?

Nah, it's rubbing ever so slightly on the liner, but like I said only at a very specific angle and wheel position, it never rubs under normal driving conditions. I can take a pic if you like?

Wait are you buying the rims in the opening post?

Those should be 22"x9"

No I already have bought some CK375's I was just asking as I noticed that the tires for 285/45/22 cost way more than alternatives. I used those pictures as reference for that the tires look the same and if there was any really huge differences between the two.

No real difference ... I ran the 375s with 285/45 and now run the 316s with 305/40 and other than looking slightly wider from the back you wouldn't know it's a different tire.

cool,,,I got that esky spoiler coming in next week but its going to have to get painted and I am going to paint the side vents as well. I also ordered that chrome hatch cover.

The only difference you will notice between 305s and 285s is the 305s really like to run in the rain grooves and move around alot. I did the same thing as you and could not figure out why 305s were so much cheaper than 285s. I bought 305s, LOL.

I have 305/40s on my 22 accessory wheels and they rub at full lock and at odd angles. But like others stated before its because I have Coopers. If you get a street tire you should be fine.
