Question on Lubing Front Axle Half Shaft

I need to remove my half shaft and install it into a new tube housing (my old one cracked). Besides making sure it is clean, should I lube the splines in any way or just put it in the way it is?

I’ve come across lots of varying responses. One of which relates to the CV axle and you shouldn’t lube that to minimize the chance of hydro locking it.

For the shaft splines use a moly grease, same as you would use on a 2 piece sliding driveshaft.
