I'd like to know what you mean by too much hassle/maintainence? The last thing I want to get myself into is more work or hassle. Thanks for the info and feedback- everyone is really helping me to gain a better understanding for when I pull the trigger!

On a side note- anyone have an idea of what I could sell my 2011 factory chrome 20" Denali rims/tires for? Running
Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza P275/55R20 Tires on them and they are less than 6 months old with a lot of meat on the tires.

I'm not trying to bypass any selling rules- just want an idea of what I could realistically get for them so I know how much cash this swap will end up taking?

I'm most likely going to add NORCALSS's lowering corner drop conversion kit when I do this. Looks like it will make the Denali look and handle better. Which will come in handy after I finish the engine upgrades :chewie:

I think it a lot falls into how you drive. I drive a lot of highway, seems like I was always at the tire store getting them balanced. One set I had 295/35/24 and hit a hole in the highway at 70mph and bent a wheel so bad my tire went flat. I replaced that set with new wheels/tires, went with a 305/35/24 thinking more tire = better ride. Still a little rough and still had vibration problems at 65+. Sold those 24s, replaced with another set (strictly a cosmetic change) those were not any different than any other set. I traded the last set off for some 22" replica 375s and they ride perfect. I have a 305/40/22 tire on it.

I agree with Cody up there, everyone has different styles and you may not notice. The 24s were just to much maintenance/hassle for me.

I think what he means is the amount of time spent taking them back to get rebalanced, and also probably cleaning and upkeep (not 100% but thats the jist of what I got). I do personally spend a lot of time keeping my wheels and tires clean, but I'm also just a clean freak when it comes to my truck.

I personally have also never experienced any balancing issues or vibrations when have 24s and even 26s and I take my vehicles on a 9hr round trip every month or so, going 70-80mph. But like I said before everyone is different

Makes sense- I'm a clean freak too with my ride. I'm married with 3 kids and refuse to let them eat in the back. My Denali is black on black so you could fart on or next to it and something would show up.

I have learned to be more forgiving but it still pisses me off when I have it detailed, waxed etc and one of my kids wants to finger draw on the Windows.. Haa

I just end up not saying much but cleaning it the second they are out of the SUV.

I am going for the black on black look with rims. Currently going back and forth on KMT Slides and CK 375. I like the look of both.

Taking my truck to have them rebalanced all the time is what I was referring to. I keep my truck spotless, and am clean freak as well. I have major OCD issues when it comes to keeping my vehicles clean.

As far as selling the factories, I sold my factory 20s for $750 with 90% Goodyear treads on a Facebook swap shop within a few hrs.

LOL Mine is black on black to and I have 2 little ***** in the middle buckets. One of them like to touch the windows, and pisses me off. They do not eat back there either. They are trained not to shut the door because of the finger prints, I open and shut the doors for them.

Sounds like our house! My wife thinks I'm crazy but then I ask her to look at the inside of her SUV vs mine. .

The SUV is the one place I control 100% of what happens... And it's staying this way.

I'm running 24" wheels with the stock suspension (autoride controlled). I noticed a mild change in the overall ride from the stock wheels, but not enough to say the suspension has got to be updated.

I'm changing suspension to improve the visual component, the added ride quality is a bonus :D

Thank you to everyone- I'm in the process of upgrading my upgrade to the Audio System- should be a beast once I'm done- see post in electronics for details.

I did purchase a Magnaflow 12909 muffler and catch can last week (already running BB tune, Airriad CAI and K&N filter) and will get this installed and the audio system upgrade before I flip out for new shoes. I really want to dial in on possible suspension upgrades or drop before I convert to the new shoes! Once I'm done with this looks like only thing I'll need is a supercharger and I'm happy! .. Because no one ever wants to add more upgrades right? Haa
