As Hapyspaz has stated, the GM shop manual does recommend .6-1.6 below the hole on non-HD models.

The easiest way to measure is to just take a clean wire zip tie and use it as a dipstick. It may take a couple of tries of getting it in without hitting any obtructions. I find that right when i insert it in, if I angle it towards me and hug the inner wall, it will take an accurate measurement.

For example, in my pic, the level should be between the arrows.

That shit is remedial, I've never seen any fluid puke out the vent tube or seals go out when filling a 10bolt to the line and I've successfully completed fluid changes on over a dozen 10bolts. If you're really worried just use the pinky method, I use that on tcases that recommend a fill under the line.

I put 75 90 in the rear is that good enough? Can I put it in the front. It's Lucas full synthetic. What do I put in the T-Case?

Check with the dealer, I'm not sure if you use auto trak II in those cases or just atf. 75/140 might be a good idea if you tow all the time but a synthetic 75/90 is fine tho.

Pretty sure the tcase would be different on the 2500, maybe it's just the tranny but I'd check the tag or call the stealer with your vin just to be certain.
