Quick question about adding DIC (drivers information center)

So I just took the DIC buttons out my friends 12' suburban and plugged it into my harness and it worked!

Wow good stuff and good to know.

Anybody gotta part # for the trim panel that the DIC switch goes in?

yep, just ordered a switch off ebay for 20 bucks!
Was it a new switch or used, I have been looking on ebay but can't find anything.

depends on which interior you have. It's the entire center plate and most of the part numbers are here...

Well I wasn't too excited about paying 130 bucks for a painted piece of plastic so I dremeled out a slot in my existing trim and leather wrapped the part that the switch goes in...is it perfect? no..but it'll do until I have 130 extra bucks to blow

Can someone tell me instructions to remove the long piece of trim described here?

Can someone tell me instructions to remove the long piece of trim described here?

It is just clipped in place, so you just pry it off, I used a platic tool created for removing interior trim, but I guess almost any long and thin tool would work. Just work your way around the edge of the trim until all the clips are loosened :)
