So i got this crack in the radiator and its just leaking ALOT of coolant. The reserve tank is full of coolant, but i uncapped the top of the radiator and holy shit its bone dry in there. The crack is on the lower part of the radiator on the driver's side. My question is, how many row's is the radiator?? Is it a 1 row or 2 row?? If you guys could explain the difference between them both would be good.

On a second note, the tahoe was overheating alot, im not sure what the normal engine temp should be cuz i have a whataburger number on my dash that blocks that gauge lol this past week it was readin 3/4 to the H. I automatilcally thought it was the thermostat that was bad but now that i got that crack in the radiator i beg to differ.

What do you guys think?

I have the same problem! My radiator cracked by the drivers side right under this stupid hose. So I fill up my engine coolant with water everyday. I try and keep the temp right under half because i think thats where its supposed to be. IT SUCKS to have a cracked radiator, I would also suggest carrying a gallon of water or two just incase. Note: water is not really a good replacement but buying a gallon of anti-freeze everyday wouldnt be that fun.

Go to your local auto-store they kinda know which one to get. The only thing you have to know is the year, engine size and if its 4 wheel or 2 wheel and auto or manual. Another thing you should know is if it has an engine oil coolant. Now im not sure how to tell that and I was just going to ask it myself. But that matters. My store said a radiator will cost like $150

You should take your truck to a radiator shop to have it fixed. They can relpace the tanks on either side of the core, if neccesary.

They are the experts and will make it work correctly. Thats a lot cheaper than frying an engine. A major overheat can warp the heads along with some uther very unpleasant side affects. Just my 2 cents worth.

Without the benifit of a pressurized system, you have a boiling point 45 degrees below the normal 15 pound system. :)

Sergio, get the 2 row, it works good....plus you're in the desert dude. Check eBay for the aluminum ones. I think they're nicer and are cheaper than O'reilly has got the two row for.

As for me? I'm rolling with an all aluminum 3 core. It's Texas...we've got to do it bigger lol.
