So i just got a second Tahoe. Its an 04 with Bose, On-Star, Sat Radio. I've been having an issue with the battery dying and i did the battery draw test and with the truck off dome light off it was pulling 2.5miliamps, with the radio unplugged it was pulling .37 with the radio fuse pulled its showing .24. Im pretty sure its not the radio itself because i took the PAC RP5-GM11 from my other truck and put it in and it did the same thing... I unplugged the On-Star unit and the Sat radio and it made a very minimal difference. Any ideas? Anybody had this same issue? Could it be a short somewhere? The guy who owned it before me appeared to be a DIYer... All input is appreciated!

Check ground behind the engine block to firewall. While you are there disconnect both ends and check for corrosion under terminals. Clean regardless. (This ground provides ground to BCM which is used as a reference when the BCM makes voltage based decisions for turn on/off of circuits, etc. Check each speaker for self contained amplifiers for a short to ground (most likely partial short to ground).

You did not mention the age of the battery. These vehicles normally carry a 800 amp cold crank from factory. My original one lasted 158k, then I replaced it with the exact OEM Delco. If your vehicle has the double positive red cable, make sure they are making good connection with a light coat of lithium grease. I put a star washer between the red cables on mine, it keeps them tight. :2cents:
