So I've installed the radio, and an amp for my subs. I got the Crux SOCGM-17B harness from Crutchfield. Everything powers up, and the radio plays. However it seems the sub amp isn't getting enough signal, or the factory amp just peaks faster. Obviously there is no adjustment for the factory amp. So what do you guys typically do? Bypass the factory amp, and power the door speakers off the head unit. I'm sure that's probably a little tricky. I tried a different head unit, and had the same result. So I know it's not that.

Have you tried playing with the gain on the amp? And the sub level on the radio?

Then yea either bypass the amp, or run an aftermarket.

Did both radios have 2v rca preouts? I have ran into that before with radios that have 2v. I usually buy something with 4-5v output.

What's your setup consist of? Hu, subs and amp? I'm running all my speakers, minus subs, on Bose. Actually sounds really good. To bypass Bose is fairly simple actually. There's actually a " jumper" harness behind the AC controls, right behind the black pocket. Disconnect that and plug your aftermarket hu harness directly into it
