I have a 2012 GMC Yukon Xl Denali and recently the stock radio just turns off and back on and not every time but a couple times when that happens the service stabilitrak message and light appears.

I've read where it could be that the ground from firewall to engine needs replaced or it could be a brake pedal sensor.

Any suggestions?

Much more often than not, these types of random stuff comes down to bad grounds/voltage in these vehicles. I have replaced my share of brake pedal sensors and have never had it cause my radio to go out.

How old is your battery?

Check all your power cables and ground cables to make sure you don’t have any corrosion forming on the cable itself as well clean the contact surfaces of all the connections.

All the power and ground cables look good to me. Earlier today it wasnt reacting at all to the key being turned so I wiggle and inspected all wires. Then it cranked just fine. Think doing what this video suggest would help?

Not sure on age of battery it was in it when I bought it and I cant find a date stamp. It is an ac delco so I guess it could be original?

Sounds like you have a bad cable and some suspect connections. I would disconnect all ground and power cable connections and clean then up with a wire brush and/or some emery cloth. As for the cable, they have been known to corrode under the insulation where you can’t see it. Might be worth replacing all your power cables also known as the Big 3.

Also, I would take your battery and get it tested to make sure you don’t have a bad cell.

It's the battery dying. I had this issue.

Thing is, I have dual batteries. The secondary battery masked it so well that I almost didn't realize it was the main battery. Switched it out and bam, all problems solved.
