Curious as to why you didn’t go with a double chain- clearance issues I’m assuming?

And?yea you need to clearance the oil pump and i think space the sensor in the front cover out.
My 6.0 doesn’t use either, it just relies on a tight chain which seems to work fine.its supposed to keep the chain engaging the gears further out... as in if there is a lot of slack and the chain is allow to go towards the center between the gears it could jump a tooth or bind or something i guess. some engines use this style... my stock 6.2 used an actual tensioner on the chain. i bought it in case putting on a brand new chain still had a bunch of slack for whatever reason. i dont think itll really hurt anything since it will not even contact anything

A little reflection I guess....but had the turbo not shit itself i would have prob driven it till the timing chain broke
