UPDATE: It won't let me attached my video as it's too big a file. But I finally figured it out. It's the 40's station on Sirius. The question is why, and why does it not happen every time. It is not set as a favorite. But, now that I know where it's coming from I'm not super worried about fixing it. It's silly but this is my first vehicle with all this fancy tech, including wifi. So my first thought was is it getting hacked But now I know it's just a funny little quirk I guess!

Yeah, they have so many customizable features it’s hard to keep track. It’s boring reading but get out the Owner’s manual and read the section for the infotainment system. It may not have solved this quirk but you’ll find all kinds of stuff like which audio source is the default. Before getting my ‘23 rig my newest car was an ‘07. A lot has changed in 16 years.

My Tahoe does this all the time as well. It seems to “tune in” the very first SiriusXM station that was stored on the radio when the vehicle was new of after a complete wipe to factory defaults. When the radio module reboots/boots up, then it starts playing the last audio station before vehicle was turned-off.

I have eventually gotten used to it and it previews what is playing on (probably) my favorite station if it is not currently selected.

Wierd, but not a major issue.

That makes sense. My OnStar doesn’t work nor does the satellite stations. I’m getting it fixed today. I hope I don’t hear what you’re hearing.

You are most likely picking up bluetooth from a phone. Happens to me occasionally. I'll get in, start, and music from my neighbors phone is picked up. Turn off bluetooth on your Tahoe and see if it happens.

Hello, hoping for some insight on a weird thing my Tahoe does. It's a 2021 RST, just purchased about a month ago. Still learning all the electronics. Sometimes (most times) when I start it, music plays. It's random in that I don't know where it's coming from, but it is always the same type- blues/jazz/50's style I guess I'd call it. It plays for about 2-3 seconds, then it changes to whatever I had playing last time I drove it. Sometimes that is Sirius, sometimes it is Bluetooth on my phone, and sometimes it is the Spotify app on the vehicle itself. I know it isn't coming from my phone or Spotify because I don't have that genre of music. It's not the AM/FM stations because I've checked and those have always just been static. My only theory is that it is defaulting to a Sirius XM station but I cannot for the life of me find where this might be a setting. And there are so many stations I haven't been able to test my theory because I don't know which station to check to see if that particular song is playing.

It isn't really an issue, more just weird and driving me crazy to not know where it is coming from. Any thoughts? Thanks!
o3 Denali here. Radio mode started changing to Sirius on me after starting and up to 1/4 mile driving. Not sure if button on wheel is stuck or gremlin that has me using the 2 wires through dash hot start procedure is part of this. It came with a 'hold to start' button then that didn't work and still getting more and more electrical oddities. Most recent is showing 1/4 tank and acting like no fuel. Taking JD loader scraper down with 4 gallons gas and 1 gallon fresh mixed chainsaw fuel. None of the lit up dash lights leave trace when attach OBD2 reader. Lol, and I thought 98 LR Disco did off the wall ****. Think there is a setting under driver comfort/settings that does the radio. Possibly interior comfort or settings. Vaguely recall seeing it before the electrics went wonky.

This is totally it- the 40's station was stored at some point I guess. I've grown to like my little snippet of the 40's now that I know what it is! ha ha!

I finally figured out that it's a Sirius xm glitch. After I narrowed down the music genre (it is always the same type of music) I quickly tuned it the 40's station one day after it did it, and sure enough the song it played on start up was the song playing on the 40's station. Still no clue why, I had never tuned into that station before, nor is it saved as a favorite. It doesn't bother me now that I know where it is coming from at least.
