I am posting this here because I'm not entirely sure which section it fits best in.

My 2008 Suburban has rarely and randomly started turning the traction control light on the dash for just a few seconds while making a turn onto a side road at a decent rate of speed.

The best way to describe it would be like traveling down a 55mph road and making a 90° turn onto a side road with traffic coming up behind you, so you are not slowing way down like if you were in a turning lane.

The TC light will pop on and stay on for just a couple seconds, as though the truck had lost traction, but it hasn't. Roads are dry and tires are new so it isn't slipping.

It doesn't do it all the time either so it is hard to predict and therefore diagnose.

I have recently, within the last 7k miles, rebuilt the entire front end including new SKF X-tracker Hybrid wheel hub assemblies so I don't think it is the hubs/ABS sensors.

Any ideas???

I haven't hooked up the Tech2 to see if there is any indication of a problem. I don't think it would have stored a code or anything just from the short period of time that it came on.

So far it has only done this twice, so it is hard to diagnose.

I know that the steering wheel angle sensor is tied into this system along with the ABS sensors of course. Not sure what else might cause this.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Mine seems to have gotten more sensitive to high-speed sharp turns since lowering it. I'm quite sure it's from the alignment. While the toe and camber are spot-on, I'm unable to set my caster with my string-and-metric ruler method. So, I set it heavier towards positive since that's much safer than "0" or negative. I can feel it when reversing and with sharp, slow turns on smooth concrete, I can get tire squeal. I'll have it all professionally aligned once I'm settled on a particular drop.

When you had yours aligned after the drop, did you get a printout? Is there any chance it's always been susceptible to this but you've only recently started taking some turns faster (new route to or from work, etc.?) and it's only recently showing?

It may not be alignment related and could be a funky speed sensor. Maybe one of the new hubs had some metal debris inside it and it was picked up by the sensor?

I may or may not still have the alignment printout, I would have to look in the glove box or console to see.

I haven't changed my driving habits or normal roads.

I plan on having the alignment checked again next month as it will be 6 months since it was done and the guy that does my alignments said it was a good idea to have it checked every 6 months or so.

Since they do alignment checks for free, as long as no adjustment is needed, I figured why not. I always stand out in the shop and watch them so I would know whether any adjustments were necessary so I don’t have to worry about being charged for something they didn't do.

I hope it isn't one of the new hubs, especially considering the only reason I changed them was as PM.

I absolutely hate an intermittent problem, they are so hard to track down.

In reality, I guess it isn't a big deal since it doesn't really cause any issues but it still bugs me knowing something is not quite right.

I'm not sure if it applies to this exact problem, several months ago I saw a post about the Circuit board box having water in it. Turn and Problem...... worth a look. I know I probably couldn't find that post again.

I remember that post... wasn't it his fuel pump control module that had water in it though???

If my memory serves me he would turn and the truck would shut off.

Kbuskill- I think you are right- fuel pump module.
The code should still be availible to tech2 if it lit up dash. Good luck hope it's easy/cheap.

Didn’t you recently upgrade the roll bars on yours? I’m wondering if the bar attempting to keep things flat is slightly unloading the inside wheels, which the computer is sensing as wheel slip.

Nope, wasn't me. @Tonyrodz and another member, who's name escapes me at the moment, both recently upgraded there anti-sway bars.

Good thought though.
