I have a 2013 Tahoe with only 13,000 miles on it. Sometimes when I am driving between 30 - 40 mph, I let my foot off the gas and coast, then when I slowly give it a little gas to maintain speed there is a rattle sound coming from underneath the truck. If I hit the gas pretty good it does not do it. Only when I give it just a little gas. I had a BB tune and Airaid Jr. and took both of them off and went back to stock and it's still happening but not near as often. I was using 89 grade gas from Exxon with the tune and just went back to 87 without tune. Could this be the AFM and if I took it to the dealer do you think they could tell or try to void the warranty?

Could it have something to do with the cylinder deactivation system/AFM?
Maybe a light pinging?

I watched the Instant Econ gauge on the DIC while driving home. It does seem like the pinging / rattle is when it goes from V4 to V8. Does it normally do that?

That sounds very similar to what is happening to me.

From what was explained to me its the DOD/AFM crap. It can be disabled.

Did you get your computer re-flashed back to the stock settings?

Mine started doing this after I got a converter and tune. Supposedly they disabled it but, it still does it only now it does it at the same speeds as you. Before it was doing it at around 25 to 35mph and at any speeds in OD.

I did flash it back to stock from the tune. It's not as bad as it was with the tune but it still does it. I got my Airaid and tune shortly after I purchased the vehicle so I don't really remember what is what like new. Not really sure if this is normal or there is a problem. I can't imagine this is normal. Not sure if I should take it to the dealer or not?

Mine is also the the same under the right throttle condition. It's kind of hard to tell where it is coming from. I think is sounds like it is from the middle of the vehicle but it doesn't sound like it is from the engine. It sounds like it might be underneath.

My original issue was this slight shudder at highway speeds. Anything in OD and it would shudder if I cruised at that speed for even the shortest amount of time. I should have let it be, hah.

Mine did not do it at all before I got the converter, shift kit jr and tune installed. It was weird when it did happen because it happened at very low speeds (20 to 35mph) it would also happen at 40+mph. Now it only does it at 40 to 45mph. I can not drive at those speeds. This is supposedly after they tuned it out.

I have read a little about it but have not seen much about issues, besides what we have reported. Disabling it should get rid of it. Someone on here has posted a thread about deleting it by using pushrods. I have a link to a kit that deletes it all together but, its a pretty involved install and you need a new cam. I'm going to consider this in the future, I think.

Mine is also coming from the middle and doesn't sound like its coming from the engine.

It would be nice if the dealer would eat this repair to eliminate the whole dod/afm crap.

Have you had your transmission dipstick tube recall done? If it's cracked they'll replace the tube and put a neoprene insulator on it, if not they'll just put the insulator on it.
