If I have to get my windshield heater removed, what all parts do I need to get it to work again?

On GMPartsDirect I see the heater, would that be all I need? Where is the fuse they remove?

Thanks, hopefully I can find a way to get it back should it be removed at the dealer.

"Do not remove my heated windshield wiper fluid system"

Just get a piece of tape and put it over the middle of the steering wheel that says don't remove my heated wipers

Well, I really thought about doing something like that, but I called and they said they are required to remove it no matter what.

Maybe I can get a waiver made that'll let me bypass it, I dunno.

It's not. My brother bought my mom's 2007 Escalade from her and had it serviced recently and they removed it without his consent. And when I went down there to ask about installing my new remotes, I asked about the heater and they said they are required to remove it no matter what I bring the truck in for.

Pisses me off, really. I use this a lot in the winter.

i really dont know what all you would need but i would think that gmparts would take it off their list of things to sell. It may show up on the site but you may not be able to order it. Im upset about mine too and am considering doing the maintenance myself so that they cant take it out! But worst case they do and i get $100.

Doing some research led me to this:

http://www.alphathermusa.com/heatedwash-AT-37GM.html

Guys on other forums said this is a very easy install as all of the old harnesses are still there. No bolts are even required to take out, and one member said "If you can change your oil you can install this". And for $67, getting the old one removed will pay for this new one. It works exactly like the OEM module, but has a high-grade plastic and can handle the GM electrical system. Also has a 12,000 mile warranty.

Looks like we have a solution! :D
