Really bad swaying from side to side help

Hey everyone im new to the site ive had a 01 denali for a few months and have been noticing really bad swaying kinda like a big gust of wind it rocks side to side at first I thought it was the shocks replaced them with the gabriel max control shocks all 4 corners still swaying I also replaced a bent rear lower trailing arm, all sway bar links, and bushings any help would be appreciated thanks

Have the alignment checked and post the readout here. I would be curious of the caster readings. What size tire and what tire pressure?

I have the same problem with my 03 Denali. 20" rims. 275 55 r20 goodyear eagles. Will someone tell me what the alignments specs including caster camber and toe in should be? And should any alignment be all 4 wheels since Denalis are AWD? I'm thinking that the yokel who did the alignment on this things for the PO, didn't know what they were doing. I ran into this on motorhomes. Many of the alignment shops just read a computer and I've had to tell them what to set things at.

My Escalade had a bit of sway in the rear, replaced the upper and lower control arms in the back without any improvement although the lower arm bushings were pretty cracked.

What solved it for me was a new panhard bar, the flimsy stamped metal one and the bad bushings in it where the source of my problems. I ended up with a QA1 tubular bar with poly bushings that you can grease, but it's not a perfect fit. It does bump the rear diff cover on big bumps.

L: 3.50° ± 1.00°
R: 4.50° ± 1.00°
Cross Caster (L-R): -1.00° ± 0.50°
Camber: +0.25° ± 0.50°
Cross Camber (L-R): 0.00° ± 0.50°
Total Toe: +0.10° ± 0.20°
Steering Wheel Angle: -1.0° ± 3.5°




I don't remember where I saw it, probably can google it, but there is a panhard bar that is adjustable with poly bushings and will clear the diff cover.

Sorry for the delay its going to the alignment shop tomorrow and I have factory tires 265/70/16 been kind of busy with this Christmas weekend I upgraded to polyurethane sway bar links and also sway bar bushings did improve a little but still swaying thanks for all of your help

Pan hard bar could cause sway if you have checked/replaced all the other bushings.

X2. If the bushings are worn out and allowing the rear axle to move side to side and that is causing the body to be caught and pulled back at the end of the bushing throw, then there is the sway. Good call.

raiderron, would those specs be ok for 20" wheels? Would they be the same for 17" wheels? Thanks very much. I'm thinking this might save me a lot of money guessing at what parts may or may not need replaced.

From what I have heard the only time it makes a difference on the wheel size is on an Avalanche, for some reason, so you should be fine.
