The epoxy will break free with a Lil strength and a turn. It never permanently bonds with the abs. uploadfromtaptalk1437791265440.jpg

Before and after. Just fogs. If you get the 9005 like I said the light will sit as close to perfect in the lense as possible. uploadfromtaptalk1437791726871.jpguploadfromtaptalk1437791739829.jpg

All pics were just taken with my s6. No flash. And taken through a tinted windshield and my light lenses are tinted also.

Exactly. Install projector fogs with hids and call it a day, make that years of awesomeness.
LEDs are still new tech for auto lighting. Hid is proven.

These led are proven. I have been installing them almost a year. Hid is saturated and the quality has gotten worse year after year. If you don't know what factory your buying from your rolling the dice every time.

The best solution for poor factory headlight output is currently a properly installed projector retrofit with a high quality HID kit, IMO. For fogs, I'm not sure you need to go through all the trouble of retrofitting a projector with HID's in place of the weak stock fog lights once you've done a good projector/HID retrofit to the factory headlight housings. The forward lighting output would be phenomenal and not blinding to anyone. As for trying to get a ridiculous amount of light output from your fogs, what's the point? Admittedly, I run my fogs almost always at night, but not because I can't see, just because it looks better, IMO.

I am curious how 08grey's linked LED's would do in the factory headlight housings. Will they blind everyone like a drop in HID kit? Will they last? Do they include built in fans because they get hot as hell? Are they chinese produced, etc.? They peak my interest because I love LED technology, but I have a lot of questions about them that would need to be answered before I spent the money. I'm not into spending my own money just to be another beta tester for someone else's product.

You peaked my interest when we spoke on the phone about the LED headlights, but I wouldn't necessarily say they are "proven" after less than a year of installation and use. I checked out the eBay item you posted up earlier, and I'm not convinced of the quality after seeing the pictures and the price. I've spent many hundreds of dollars on SINGLE high quality LED products, so it makes me wonder how high a quality these can really be for $125. Especially considering you're getting a PAIR of LED's, plus the ballasts, etc. High quality LED products aren't cheap, so you can't blame me for being apprehensive at first. I'm not closed minded, though, so I am open to listening to whatever information you have to offer about them. If you're convincing enough, I may just try them out.

One more question. Do these really ship from NY? The eBay listing states that they ship from Woodside, NY like you said, but the listing also states "Delay may happen due to customs inspection and clearance. Buyer is responsible for all customs duty charges/taxes, if any." The only way they'd be held up for a customs inspection is if they're being shipped from overseas and into the US. Obviously they're made overseas, I'm just curious who's going to back them up if or when they fail.

Yes they ship from ny. It's the same place I get mine from.

Evaluating Led technology goes deeper than somebody slapping a brand name on a box. You have to understand what direction the factory's are going. Read about the technology in oem led lighting and what parts of China they come from. BTW it all comes from china. Sometimes Taiwan with Chinese parts. Taiwan makes a better product most of the time. You have to see what other products come out of these factory's ect. Look at the trs fog that's coming out. It's the same 4 inch fog light you could buy for over 2 years. A Chinese copy of the jwspeeeker 4" . The only difference is they modified the rear casing to direct fit.

Everyone thought Cree was going to be the future. Cree has been bootlegged to a huge extent and it dosent create enough output vs heat to last as a headlight. Cobb (chip on board) is where the technology is going.

As far as being the a test subject that's on you. You have already experienced what happens when you trust in a brand.

I actually have trs projectors sitting in the closet to do a retrofit. I will some day. Not because I'm worried about blinding anyone but because I like the ability to focus.

You say CREE's don't create enough output versus heat to last as a headlight, but the ones you linked us to say they are CREE LED's. These are the ones I was looking at to replace my headlight bulbs with since they can be ordered as a direct replacement for H11's. They're the ones you gave the item number for.

http://m.ebay.com/itm/3600LM-40W-LE...=Bulb Size:H11|Color:6000K&varId=560598957869

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding something here...Also, how is the beam pattern when switching over to these LED's in the factory headlight housing? Is it similar to a halogen bulb with at least some kind of a cut-off, or is it like a drop-in HID kit where the light just scatters everywhere? Thanks for answering these questions, BTW.

I might just try a set. What the hell. The only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger is the fear of having the same problem I had with the Morimoto HID kit and one side not working properly since these LED's also use ballasts. Just not in the mood to keep on troubleshooting to find the root cause. If my stock halogens weren't working, that'd be one thing, but they work just fine. Anyway, I appreciate all the information so far and if I do try a set out, I'll be sure to hit you up and let you know what I think. Even if they don't end up working out, its really no big deal as I'm sure I'd just find another way to waste $125. Lol. Its only money.
