Rear axle seal question

Just found out both rear axle seals are leaking.
1997 Tahoe 2 door with 105K miles.
Since the temp is around 18 degrees here in NH, my local mechanic will do the work.
two questions;
While he's in there is there anything else I should replace like axle bearings?
How much time($$) should I expect to be hit with?

I had planned on changing the diff fluid in the spring so I already have Amsoil and a new gasket sitting in my garage.

dealer estimate is 1.5 hrs for both outer bearing and seals.

Tentative plan is to do seals, outer bearings, and pinion seal.
Amsoil going in as well.
Brake shoes will most probabaly be replaced as well due to having been contaminated by the leaking seals.

Is AC/Delco the way to go or are the aftermarket vendors like Timkin and Raybestos the wayto go?
I fear this is going to be expensive but I want it done right.

+1 on deciding to go through everything while your in there. As a Tech. I like to see people taking the positive approach on doing a job right the first time.
