Nothing was mentioned about the quality of pads, hardware and rotors used. Then there is the chance of wrong pads install for inner and outer pads. Nothing mentioned about brake install procedure, how much cleaning and lubing went on. Plus, you said "This has been on every GM SUV I owned." Are you installing the parts or is a shop or dealer installing. That may well be the one common denominator. Plus, where are you located? Salt on the roads?

This particular truck, the rear brakes were done by the dealer. I brought it off a used car lot at a Caddy dealer, and part of the deal was all new pads / rotors. One can only assume they are ac delco parts.
