Didn't really know which category this would go in.. We should have a 'Mechanical' category :)

Anyways, when I bought the truck there were issues with the rear hatch (it was a nice price negotiator) so the problem is it opens half way, does some crazy gear skipping ( only sometimes) then shuts.

So one would think that it is the motor that has bad gears right? But then when I turn tfe power gate off and do it manually, it does not stay up on its own and also is still extremely heavy.

So then the next logical assumption is to change the struts. So I bought brand new ones.

Nope. Same issues. Has anyone ever had this happen? It doesn't make any sense that it doesn't work with new struts either. I got an appointment at the shop on Tuesday at the stealer, but if anyone has some suggestions before I get robbed on Tuesday I'd really appreciate it :)

rear hatch problem also

Hatch will go up with switch or keyfob or handle but almost immediately reverses on its own, especially if sun hits rear of unit. Once up will only lower partway with button or fob then kicks back up unless button on hatch is held till past 1/3 travel. 2007 Tahoe LT
Any ideas?
