The 8.6" axles have 30 splines, the 9.5" axles are 33 spline.
If you were to buy a 9.5" axle from a RWD Escalade or Denali, they bolt right up, you don't even have to change the u-joint or shorten the driveshaft.
Oh, the most important number is AAM - 40019701 - That is the original piece in your truck, AAM supplied the front and rear differentials. It is 866 millimeters long. I do not know where they measure from.

The yokes are 1355s on both the driveshaft and the 8.6 and 9.5 axles so no need for different u-joints.

Hi I finally got the rear end in today. But I ran into a problem. The drive shaft bolt clamps aren't lining up with the rear end. The bolts aren't lining upAssistance overload.
