Hey everyone so I think I made a mistake.i pulled my rear radio controls out of my 01 suburban 1500.the plastic was delaminating and I figured since i have an aftermarket head unit didn't need anymore.well after removing it and tossing itI realized I lost my rear door speakers.is there any way to bypass this.im not afraid to splice and solder just not sure what wires

Are you sure that was the problem. I did the same thing this past weekend, I deleted the rear radio control and completely removed the factory harness. It's basically a jumper harness which connects from the main radio harness to the cd/cassette player, rear radio control and back to the back of radio. I still have sound out of all the speakers including the tweeters.
Here's a pic of the harness that I removed.

I took mine out of my 00 and never had any problem with the speakers, kids broke it basically so I just took it out completely.

I've had this saved for quite a few years. Not sure what years it applies to, but might give you some insight. Seems this is only an issue with trucks that had the Bose system. Basically you just jump the wires that are the same colors.

I have just left mine there even though they don't work. If I could find the pocket that goes in their place (was discontinued by GM and only came on the extended cab trucks with center consoles, so not that common) I would go through with removing them.

Oh thanks that's exactly what I was looking for!!I've been looking for the pocket to.im toying with the idea of just putting a piece of Plexi glass painted trim color in it's place.or maybe backlite a Chevy symbol to add something cool

On the 00-02 it is the whole back of the console that you replace. That is how my 02 Avalanche didn't have the RSA was, all one piece. I have seen them in various colors on ebay, just search for silverado (or tahoe or suburban or sierra or yukon) console and sift through the results. The 03-06 console is the same no matter what it just either has a pocket or the controls.

Did you ever figure out what to do I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe it has OnStar and a built-in sub but without Bose about a year ago my kids broke the rear seat audio (RSA) and I just unclipped it and didn't realize it made by back speakers stop working I'm in the process now of installing a new radio amp and subs but don't know how to get the back speakers to work since I took out the RSA
