Rear Tailgate opening height

I am 6'4" and I am trying to find a way to increase the opening height for my 2011 Yukon XL's rear tailgate. Any suggestions as i am tired of running into it......

If your struts are working properly and the height is as high as you can manually push it up, you can only start lifting the actual vehicle to get the lift gate higher

yeah everything is working correctly. Guess i will just need to watch out. Not raising the truck.

Ah, come on! Just install a little 7" lift kit or something!

How about the opposite... I want mine to open less (not so high) as one of these times my wife is going to open it in the garage and hit the garage door (I need it to stop about 2" lower than it currently does).
