Thanks guys,
I just went out and tried again. I held the outside button for 10 seconds and the Key FOB for 10 seconds as well. I also tried the same thing with Key On and KEY OFF.
Still no clicking and the window is still firmly latched.
Thanks

In all likelyhood the reason the glass will not open is because of the rear wiper. there is a safety interlock to prevent the glass from opening if the wiper is on or if the wiper arm is not "parked" properly.

Problem solved!
When I changed my oil and filter a week ago I reset the oil life to 100%.
AS I reset the oil life I fumbled around with the DIC screen options, as I always do, until I found the place to reset. I must have changed the "Auto lock" somehow because I fiddled around with that feature reseting it now and all of a sudden the liftglass now opens as it should.
Ironically the rear wiper started to work again as well.
Clearly a Safety Lock overload for an 80 year old driver.
Thanks
J.Peter
