I put in my Pioneer AVH-P4400BH double din earlier this year and I've always wanted to get a backup camera. Since this unit has the trigger wire for reverse and also lets you select the camera while driving, I decided to try my hand at an install. Most of you have already seen numerous installations of rear views but here is how I did it.
First thing I did was run the video cable up to the front from the back. I pulled up all the trim and door sills along the left side of the truck then went up near the parking brake release and over behind the panel under the steering wheel and behind the radio.
Next, I ran the trigger wire from the purple/white input on the radio harness to the gray wire at the BCM. The gray wire is on the blue plug and labeled A8. The camera has a power lead as well and I ran that to the rear 12V accessor outlet on the right side.
Lastly, I mounted the camera. Pretty much chose the same spot as everyone else but I used a different camera than most. Its a Pyle PLCM24IR. The left side of the bracket easily tucks under the left side of the bumper trim but I had to notch the right side trim to get the right side of the bracket to slide under it. I will get some pictures of that later. Here is the finished product.
