Funny thing is they are trained on the computer to research the part requested so if they get a dumb ass input, they give a stupid ass answer. I had a problem with Advanced auto cause no one new how to do a credit and put the correct part on the same sale. The answer I got was "hey I just work here" I called corp, and they said they had other complaints and that there would be changes in the next few weeks, I stopped in a few days ago, a whole new crew. You gotta give em a break, they arn't getting 6 figures. The name tags are the same just a different color uniform with out the golden arches

I got a chuckle out of this thread. I didn't realize everyone was so passionate about AutoZone! I believe it's always a bonus when you go to "any" store and are actually able to talk to somebody with some knowledge, but it's totally understandable the majority of auto parts store employees aren't gear heads. I've had plenty of friends who've worked at Lowe's and didn't know anything about building supplies, worked at Best Buy and didn't know crap about electronics, and even have a couple friends selling Oil well and Pump Jack Parts and equipment who barely know how to change their own oil and wouldn't know the first thing about exploration or production. I guess there's always a place for everybody!
