you might as well replace the G80 with something more reliable, several much better units out there to choose from.

if you had been about a week earlier i had one for sale i let go hella cheap.

EATON TRUETRAC!!!! FTW!!!!

Thats what happen to me, well the ring and pinion. Pinion decided to grenade took out 8 teeth on the ring while doing so.

Definitely new, if not try junk yard. I dont think you can get just the gears. To bad you live on the other side I would give you my carrier. still good

Bolt in swap for the most part, but you'll need a conversion u-joint, Precision 447 IIRC.

Make sure it's a 4wd rear or you'll need wheel spacers because they came in 2wd trucks that were 6 lug

I've got one just like it. It was out of a '95 though and is a G80 (grumble). Almost have it ready to install. Looks like everything is a direct fit, so we'll see. Make sure you get the bottom U-bolt plates if you get the axle, its a larger dia. than the 10-bolt. If you can get it at a good price, I'd go for it. Just the difference in size is impressive.

Oh yeah, the coversion U-joint I got is a Precision #447 at Summit. $46 delivered.

TruTrac FTW! Can't wait till I get mine. :)
