Trying to figure out this leak on a 02 yukon with 5.3l engine. draining down between crank pulley and PS pump. PS pump? Cylinder head? Intake manifold? thx.
On my 03 silverado there was a plug in the front driver side corner of the block slightly higher than the crank that had a gasket that seeped a noticeable amount of coolant. That might be something to look at. You could see the plug from the underside. Should be behind the power steering pump somewhere.
Have you tried putting a piece of white paper under the leak so the fluid would land on it and see if you can figure out what kind of fluid it is? Also take a small mirror with a flashlight and try to look in all the nooks and crannys to see where the fluid is coming from, that's how I found my waterpump leaking for sure!!
Talking to my buddy and the fact that the same thing happened to me I'd say that your water pump gaskets are in need of replacement. It started as a seep and later became a sizeable leak. Water pump is fine just needed new gaskets. Took me like 2 hours to do the job.
Had the coolant system pressure tested. garage said water pump is leaking, and recommended replacement. I'll probably replace H2O pump soon. Good sources?
