I run it, it will just retard the timing and you will get a little less mileage.I know that it is recommended that the high octane be used in the 6.2L motor but would it be fine to run the regular octane?
NopeIn regards to long term effects, will it harm the engine?
It has knock sensors and retards timing to prevent spark knock.Yer 6.2 liter has a higher compression ratio this generates more heat and high octane fuel is more heat resistant then regular so running 87 will cause knocking or pre ignition
