I am having trouble finding a new (used) truck. I really want a regular wheelbase Escalade but it seems there are many ESV's with the colors/mileage that I want but not sure if I want the ESV. Dont really like the extra length but I am striking out finding what I want. Is it really much longer?

I'm not sure of the exact measurements but I'm going to guess it's a good foot longer. When we got our burb (which is the same length as an ESV) we went from a short wheel base denali to the burb and I honestly didn't notice a huge difference in how it drove or handled. The biggest difference is the amount of cargo you can haul. there's a lot more interior space.
with that said, if what you REALLY want is a short wheel base esky then I'd be patient and get what you really truly want. if you feel you could benefit from the extra space of the ESV then they are really worth it IMO.

I am single so the short is fine but there have been a few occasions when I wished I had more room! I live on NYC so parking space is limited. I dont especially like the look of the ESV but the extra room may be beneficial. IDK.... Is it just rear cargo space? Or is there more room between 2nd and 3rd row?
Man, you get and ESV in NYC and might as well park outside the Peninsula with T&L plates and start shlepping folks to the airport. 
I was just there with my SWB and it wouldn't fit in 75% of the parking lots, you'll only be able to park an ESV on the street (if space available and it's safe) or in open air lots with a huge surcharge.
Go SWB bud.

it's mostly rear cargo space. Everything else is identical. Living in NYC may make having an ESV a bit cumbersome. Especially with limited parking space

What is the weight differance?
Thanks, have numbers on the length? I just looked at pics of the cargo area on an ESV and it looks like it has 30"+ more space.

Why do you keep throwing in the EXT? Are you considering that as well?
I really like the way it looks but imo its not practical for me BUT being I cannot find the shortie that I want I am getting desperate.
