my guess is there is some compromised clones out there trying to backdoor into the gm servers when they are connected and that's the reason for the error message
that's my educated guess anyway

Ideally, I'd like to get the VIN of a truck with the MP3010 and see what programming options are available to it.Awesome! But since they show part numbers for the 2 speed xfer module, possible original 1 speed modules can't be reprogrammed to 2?
But angry because they gotta screw with us little guys trying to program our own modules they made this stupid way..
I'm pleased to report back that @mikez71 suggestion of trying out a new Dorman TCCM worked! New module installed, did the learn procedure, and everything's working - all T-case modes AND REMOTE START!!! Thanks to Mike and everyone else for the help. Sorry this was such a wild goose chase.
We may not ever know the whole explanation as to why the module worked fine for its function, but prevented remote start. There is one small possibility.... the Dorman module had a sticker over the connector ports saying to "four- pin connector must be connected last to avoid communication errors." (Four-wire connector is the one that supplies power to the module) I did not know that rule when I did the t-case conversion, so it's possible I toasted a circuit or something inside the module.

ditto I sub'd to it from the get go, even digging around trying to help out learned some new stuffthat's awesome it worked.
the wild goose chase is a good thing, I learned some stuff from this thread and I'm sure others will too.
OK, I give, how the heck do you change the thread title? i know I've seen many do that, and I think I've even done it myself, but now I'm not seeing the button or link to "edit thread"I learned alot too! Let's go TYF!!!
Only threw the dorman suggestion out there because I was out of ideas..
It may not have been caused by the '4 pin connector' since you had no communication errors.
Super glad you have it squared away.. You know what to do now.. (SOLVED!)
I believe the option to make changes to the title "times out" you could ask @Fless to make a change, admins have the option to editOK, I give, how the heck do you change the thread title? i know I've seen many do that, and I think I've even done it myself, but now I'm not seeing the button or link to "edit thread"
