Hi guys! Mr. Lomax here. OK, I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe, 2WD, 5.7. I am changing the Crank Position Sensor, but ran into a brick wall. I removed this sensor, but the part that came out of the Timing Chain Cover was plastic, while the replacement part from Autozone, has a metal part wrapped between two pieces of rubber, with a rubber O-Ring in the middle. The replacement part will not fit in the cover, because of what appears to be a brass sleeve, that looks like it doesnt come out. The sensor is too wide. Does this brass sleeve come out, or will I have to remove the upper piece of rubber on the new Sensor?

HI, Currently I do not carry that part for that size motor in your Tahoe. One of the board members may have run across this before though.

Did you ever figure out if the brass ring is supposed to come out
