I have been trying to diagnose the noise coming from the rear of my 2008 Yukon for some time now. The noise occurs in the rear when driving over speed bumps or any uneven areas in the road. It sound like it may be the rear coil springs moving slightly, but that is just a guess. I would like to remove the springs and install new insulators on the top and bottom just to see if that is the problem. I wish I could mount a video camera under the car to capture what goes on over speed bumps.
Do I need a spring compressor in order to remove them?
