Can anyone tell me if I unplug the rear ac controls (i'm putting in a flip down in its place) can i still use the front to adjust them or do they need to be plugged in to complete the circuit?

Thanks

Can't tell you off hand, but why not go out to your truck and try it real quick yourself? Would have been faster to unplug it and try than to go online and post about it.
Don't this comment as rude, just suggesting to try it first.

The easiest way to do it is to leave it plugged in. You can pull the knobs off the panel and tuck it up into the headliner. I did it this way for a long time. When I pulled the headliner out to redo it I decided to look more into getting rid of the back controls. There is a board in the harness that allows one panel to override the other. I'm not smart enough to figure out how to bypass it, lol. But one day while I was at the wrecking yard I spied a Tahoe with a sunroof that had no rear controls. I grabbed the harness from it (they didn't even charge me for it!) and put it in my Suburban. I removed the control panel from the overhead console, and replaced it with the rear one because it had the correct plug for the new harness, and no "rear control" switch position. It works great.
