Removing roof rack??

Thinking about removing the roof rack on escalade. Anything I should be aware about?

I shaved my wife's on her 2002 Tahoe, came out great. Doing my 2001 next.

The end caps CAN be a real PITA to get off. Of the four, one of them just didn't want to come off. It took a lot of persuading to come free.

And yeah, then the nutserts look like crap sticking up from the roof...
