replaced a leaking gasket on the cap/rotor, now i've got a problem

I replaced a gasket on the rotor (no, not the brake rotors, underneath the spark plug cap) and now I've got a jolt whenever I come to a full stop, or put my foot on the gas. Any ideas?

Throw the timing off some?

I really have no idea dude, you think if I unplug and plug the wires it'll get rid of it?

Did you have to pull the distributor off? If not, I don't think that would do it. But that's a good one.

Unless you put it back exactly the way it was then your timing might be off some. You check timing yet?

Turn the engine over until it is at "top dead center", then check to be sure the rotor is pointing at #1 spark plug.

Not yet, I don't have any scanners at home. Gotta take it to my pops first thing in the morning.

So what happened?

Scanned it, no codes showed up. The timing hasn't changed, Everything is exactly the way I left it. Hopefully it'll fix itself soon, it's pretty damn annoying.
