Are you getting like a shimie or shutter when the rear end hits bumps, and almost kind of a wollowie ride? That's how mine feels after doing the supposedly Bilstien 5100 shock upgrade. Quite frankly I think they are valved way to soft for the SUVs. Might be just fine for the light rear end of a pickup. Hell I think the 220K OEM shocks I took off rode better...

I just replaced my rear Nivomats with bilstein rear coils and 4 new bilstein shocks. I got the factory replacement shocks (4600's maybe?) And mine rides great. A lot better than blown Nivomats.
The rear feels a little softer than stock, but rides very well.

Op, maybe you do have something wrong with the front end.

just to update this. The shocks did settle down after a while but still a very stiff bumpy ride. I really didnt care for the billsteins, like at all. If you love the ride from the factory you will most likely not care for these. After some research I found out I should have ordered the monroe reflex as its a much softer ride but you will lose some stiffness on corners. Oh well, selling the truck anyways. I have a whole new beast to contend with, a 2009 yukon xl! Of course right away when I purchased it the service suspension light was on. This time I'm going to go with the arnott system and keep the air ride working.

My bilstiens are stiff too. Had them on for years and they softened up some but overall they ride hard as hell. Maybe a good off road shock but a little rough on the street IMO.

belltech sp. I've done the swap. Lots of people say stiff shock is what you need but I feel the Bilstein are to stiff which makes ride bouncy and harsh. Stiff is not aways best..... unless your talking about sex lol
