I bought my 07 Tahoe on Monday. I've wanted one since I started driving way back when, and I finally put myself in the financial position to get one. It's in pretty good shape, which means that for the most part, I'll be able to start making the modifications I want to quickly.

However, the front left speaker is blown (Bose system), and I'd like to replace it. GMPartsDirect has it here:
Code:
15905042 - SPEAKER
BODY HARDWARE / INSTRUMENT PANEL / SOUND SYSTEM / Front dr speaker
Front dr speaker TAHOE & YUKON, w/Bose system Left

MSRP Online Price
$100.46 $52.24

Amazon sells the ACDelco version here:
http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-15905...=1345046697&sr=1-1-fkmr1&keywords=15905042+GM

My question is, does the ACDelco version perform the same? Is it the same thing even? I'd rather just have the one day shipping from Amazon so I can pop it in this weekend, but if it's going to sound like crap, then I can wait.

Thanks, and thanks for all the great reading and ideas so far. My wife is already getting nervous about what I'm going to do to this thing.

Why not just get some new 6.5's?

oem suck and they fail often. Better upgrading to something more reliable. Also your chimes play though the drivers speaker. That goes, you wont hear any chime warnings

I'd be open to upgrading them, as long as that was fairly simple. Electronics are not exactly my forte, and the last time I swapped speakers was 10 years ago. Any recommendations on decent speaker replacements for the front? Something that my wife won't balk at the price of would be nice as well. I think the Bose system can push a bit more power to the speakers, but I still don't know the tech specs to be looking at. Will 6.5s just fit right in the old slot?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to do this right.

Actually aftermarket 6.5" are cheaper than OEM to replace and sound better. I have JL Audio 6.5 C2-650s but are 300 a pair. :0 but sound AMAZING :). Some $100 speakers are good too and you might as well replace both.
