replacement shocks

So I've got the air ride, want to get rid of it, keep stock height. Want similar ride though.

So are the edelbrock or belltech the better package for smooth ride,/body roll at stock height.

I'm replacing front and rear?

No, you can get belltech street performance shocks for stock height.

Went with the Rancho 9000's adjustable

Took about 4hrs and a few tools and a heavy jack, didn't even have to take the wheels off

Setting 4 in the front, and 2 in the rear

Nice shocks, a tad costly , before the rebate

you can just do the shocks wont change ride height but ride quality is bettter.

Rancho RS9000XL's

I finally junked the Autoride system on my 2001 Tahoe . Installed the Ranchos yesterday.

Fronts are RS999265 and Rears are RS999262.

I'm running 22 inch MB's and they are heavy. I set the fronts at setting 8 of 9 and left the rears at 5. So far I think the ride is ok. I'll post again after I put a few more miles on.

I got the shocks from Rockauto and they are still over $100 each. Rancho had a $100 debit card rebate on Rancho RS9000XL's thru June 30th however...

Update

I just wanted to post a follow-up to my earlier message.

The RS9000 shocks did make a difference. The ride is better and so is the handling.

My winter wheel/tires are 18 inch Escalade wheels with Bridgestone Duelers. Now, with the Ranchos, the truck rides better even with the heavier MB KL-77/Yokohama combo.

I have drop spindles and Beltech rear shock extenders, so the shock length is essentially stock.

I am happy to be rid of that Autoride junk.
