Replacing Brakes

My brakes were ready to get replaced so decided to order and try the brake kit off e-bay. It comes with all (4) rotors (drilled and slotted) and pads for the front and rear. Here is the link:

Braking is much better than the last brakes I had installed. Did everything myself and it only costs $225 shipped. Figured I'd just give a review and let others know about an inexpensive alternative.

Hey thanks for posting this topic.. What size rims do you have?? I just put a set off 22's on my xl Denali an the stoping distance increased with the bigger rims I'm wondering would this set up word better then factory or do I just have to upgraded to a big brake kit

I have stock rims on my truck. I think this kit would be an upgrade compared to the stock rotors and pads, but you would definitely see a better improvement with an larger rotor. I know I have seen guys here talk about upgrading to the NNBS style brakes, which could be a alternative.

I bought the same kit about a year ago. I only changed fronts, as I was doing the wheel bearings also. So far the fronts are holding up very nicely.

Just changed the rears Sunday, but also had to change calipers as 1 piston of my 2 piston calipers were frozen(1 open/ 1 closed, opposite sides).

They were $205 last year. I run 20" rims. For the price, you cant beat them.

The wife had to do a total brake job about 3-4 years ago, I was working outta town extended. Mechanic asked her if she parked in standing water, as the rotors were rusted to hell..... And last year the 3 year old rotors were back in the same shape....Rusted.... And it cost me $700!!!!!!!!

1 year in, and they still look great. I bet there in much better shape in 2 more years, then the rotors the mech put on......

Yes and no. You can use the the lines and caliper but you need a new caliper bracket to allow for clearance of the bigger rotor. SSBC sells an upgrade kit with the larger rotors and caliper relocation bracket but I believe new, the whole set up is around $800. I found my brackets locally for around $200 for all 4, still had to buy the larger rotors though

Same here. I was quoted close to $800 for a complete brake job (rotors and pads) a couple years ago. Those rotors and pads must not have of been of any quality because a few years later they were rusted and worn. I'm definitely please with the quality of these so far. And for the money and saving's on labor you cant complain.

Right... Brakes on these are so simple, BUT you cant have the wife not being able to stop..... Unless shes well insured.... J/K

I think I will pull the rotors on year 2, and hit the flutes and backside inners with some hi temp paint, just to be safe.
