Today i disconnected all electrical, injectors, Fuel Lines, Coolant Lines to Throttle Body and tommorow will be replacing what i think to be a leaky gasket due to a rough idle on a cold start. I figure this is the issue because it runs great when it is warm and has no rough idle at all. Any thoughts or tricks when replacing new gasket?? Anyone had this cold start issue out there?

It's a fairly simple job. I find it easier to attach the gaskets to the manifold then set the assembly down onto the block. There are alignment tabs on the bottom of the manifold that the gaskets will lightly "snap" into and hold it in place while you lower the manifold to the block.

God those injectors are hard to get to towards the rear, doesn't help with fat fingers either. Whats your opinion on the "cold start.....rough idle " from all my research it makes sense that when the car warms up the gaskets expand and runs perfectly, I'm HOPING this is the fix, any ideas?

Cleaned it a week ago, cold start w/rough idle still persists, my next thought was leaky intake gasket since the factory gaskets are known to be faulty.

When you cleaned your throttle body, did you clean the iac bypass passage inside the upper left corner of the tb? If this is caked with gunk, it will cause it to idle rough when cold also.

Not sure if i cleaned the iac. I basically had a toothbrush and swiveled the lip open and cleaned the best i could as far as i could reach in the TB with the toothbrush, I did notice a small hole on top left side, not sure if i cleaned that good, is that what your talking about?

This is exactly the thing I have to do. My buddy was leaning up against my Kon the other day while it was running (this was when it was warmed up, running smooth. or so i thought) and tells me I need to get the intake gasket replaced. I never told him about it, or how rough it runs in the morning. He told me it was a fairly simple job to do but he just said it best to do in a shop or garage. Ever since its gotten cold here, the Kon has rough morning startups.

I guess the factory gaskets are know to be faulty
I'm doing the gaskets and then some sea foam through brake boosters, hoping to have it all cleaned out and idling fine after today, assuminig i can put it back together in one piece.
