I have an 07 Yukon that has about 75K on it. I've read the forums where guys have been plagued with intermittent power issues and what not. I saw that some never got it corrected and some had to get the BCM flashed due to a service bulletin. I have had the BCM flashed and still experience a small issue. When my truck does lose power, it is a total disconnect. No power anywhere as if the battery is not there. I have a new battery in it now. However, sometimes I still get the no power symptoms. I had the alternator tested and it is in spec. The reason I believe it is the negative cable is that 95% of the time it happens....I touch the negative cable and all life comes back. 5% of the time I have to play with it for awhile and it will come back. Almost always happens after the engine cranks. It will crank and run fine but when I stop...all power leaves. I believe this also to happen because the cranking rocks the engine and disrupts the short. I'm almost positive of that. My question here is this:

Who has replaced the negative cables? How hard is it? Seems pretty easy but I haven't had a chance to look at it. Where are the connections? How many? What guauge wire to get? Do I need to use factory parts or make my own direct cable? Thanks in advance for any help.
