Reprogramming Trans on 09 w/5.3

I'm thinking a) not going to be compatible with regular gas, and b) not gonna last long on my 175000 mile motor. Fun though for a couple of days I bet. :-D

Yeah I do have to use premium but my motor had 150,000 and I didn't hesitate, everyone said don't worry. I've also just done a cam and headers and expect to get another 150,000 out of it.

That's not bad mileage. I reckon coasting down the hills with the motor in V4 helps.

Wow, my last tank of all city driving with my foot in it ended up at 7.7 mpg. I've never seen anything close to 18 even before any mods.

I remember the car I learned to drive in. My mom's 1967 Buick Electra 225 Sport Coupe. It was a coupe because it had two doors. Each door weighed about as much as a volkswagen. It had a Wildcat engine pumping out 360 hp. On a good day we could get 8 mpg. We used to drive from near DC down 95 and fill up in Richmond to get to Virginia Beach where we filled up again. That was on a 30 gallon tank.

I do intentionally drive to get good mileage. Otherwise the hour drive would get really boring. I can beat 18 if I drive 70 but then I'm having to dodge around in the slow lanes. If I cruise 80 it drops off. 75 just works well.

It's mostly downhill from one gas station I use and over the 5 miles home I can get to 25 mpg.

My uncle lent my mother one of his 1956 Cadillacs once while our car was in the shop. She was so angry with him because it had 2 4-barrel quadrajet carburetors that delivered 5 miles per gallon! I miss those Wildcats though, there's a guy in town always asking me to buy his 225. I bought the truck instead.

Removing torque management is not a good idea. This truck will benefit from spacing the shiftpoints and a few other goodies. If you are interested in calibration send me a PM.

Removing torque management was the best thing that I did to my stock 4l65e.

I clearly need to do some research. I have no idea about torque management. I do notice that my Tahoe seems to really like the cooler weather and is doing better. That should buy me some time to raise some money for whatever I do.
