I bought a '07 Yukon Denali yesterday and love it. I would like to hear that 6.2 a little more and could always use any extra power for towing our 6800# boat this summer.

I was looking at buying a MBRP 3" exhaust for roughly $350 but, then saw some folks with SLP resonator delete/tip setups that looks cheap and nice.

Those with resonator delete's on the 6.2, could you hear a signifigant change in the exhaust tone?

Thanks,
Todd

My Denali in sig sounds nice with a slight mean sound, since new, but was wimpy when I needed power.
That's changed since I did a DIY CAI mod to the stock air box and added EFI, now its impressive to drive. NO MORE WIMP
About 2 hrs labor to do the air box mod plus the cost of a K&N OEM drop-in.
Then the cost of EFI.
This is what will give you a little more power.

The stock resonator/tip is straight thru so I doubt you'll gain anything just changing the resonator.

When you remove the resonator, the exhaust becomes louder and a bit more raspy. I do believe that Serge had a write up on this somewhere, as he did go with the SLP tips on his old Denali.

Or with a little elbow grease and Turtle Wax polishing Compound using a 2" buffing wheel kit $3 mounted on a 3" cut-off air tool for $9 both at Harbor Freight.

Aside from the EFI, did the air box mod improve it much? I was looking at just adding a K&N FIPK.

Thanks,
Todd

I've had the K&N since new I didnot notice much if anything.
I did my AIR BOX mod when I ordered my EFI I had several days to drive it while waiting. This was early March 2013, Two thumbs up on just the Air Box mod.
I did the same mod to my Dmax shortly after I bought it new.
I don't know why I waited so long to do the Denali, actually I know why I waited my wife told me to leave her Denali alone. She still does not know I've done anything, and its going to stay that way.:happy3:

Do you have a link for the air box mod write up? I checked the tech/diy section and didn't see anything.

Thanks,
Todd

I took off my resonator just a couple weeks after getting my Tahoe and it wasn't worth the time involved. It was hard to even tell a difference.
