Hi everyone, I'm kind of going the opposite direction of most, and have a few questions. First off, 2012 Yukon XL 1500 with the factory Bose system originally. When I bought the vehicle I had plans to eventually replace the crap Boss stereo with a good aftermarket, but life changes and right now my focus is just to restore all the functionality I've lost by putting in a factory stereo. Plan is to go to a few pick and pull type yards and try to find a stock stereo to swap in, but I need to understand a few things.

Will any 07-14 stereo work? My Yukon was originally equipped (build sheet from GM) with navigation, DVD (for the factory screens), rear seat audio, backup camera (display in mirror), and rear parking sensors.
Is there any security code needed, and if so where do I find it?
Yukon was built with Bose audio system, but does not have center dash speaker, are the stereo's specific to Bose system and are they marked? Will it matter that the center speaker isn't there, or is that possibly a different package that I didn't get?

Sorry I realize some of this may sound dumb, but I can pick up a stock stereo for $20-30, versus a Maestro for ~$200, and then I'd still need a decent head unit as the Boss unit is garbage. My main focus is restoring things like the turn signal "click", the parking sensors, as well as warning chimes and such that run through the stereo, the nav would be nice as well. While seatbelt warnings can be annoying, not getting any audible warning of engine issues is a bit concerning. Is there anything I'm not thinking of, or any recommendations that don't involve spending hundreds of dollars I don't have?

If yours had a navigation unit then the backup camera would have displayed on there and not he mirror. What are your "U" RPO codes?

If you intend to put what was in their originally, you'll want a nav unit from 2012-2014 as they are much improved over the earlier versions. Someone was selling one on here earlier this year, don't know if it ever sold. You can also check the nation's largest fence, Craigslist. I've seen them on there before for $100. They will need to be programmed to your VIN and anyone with a Tech-2 can do this. If you own one of these rigs, you should have a Tech-2 as well!

The Bose Centerpoint system with the center dash speaker and smart amp was used in the Denalis, Escalades and LTZ Chevy trucks and wagons.

I have UE1, UG1, UJM, UK3, UD7, U42, U2K, U84, UPF, USR, UVC, UQA, UK6, UUJ, I thought I remembered Nav but I guess not. Thank you for making me actually pull the sheet back up to be certain.

And thank you for the center dash answer, that makes sense and this is non-Denali, just SLT trim level.

chances a pretty slim you will find a oem nav unit for $20-30 more like $200-300 and that is even with questionable operation and cosmetic condition.
re-programming a radio to the vehicle requires a tech2 and $40 fee to ac delco tds or whatever the dealer will charge you for the same process.

Different year, but when I replaced the crap Kenwwod system that was in my 2005, I bought the stock radio and cd player at ebay and the guy just needed my VIN and he pre-programmed it and it was plug and play. Likely the 2007 and newer are different but there may still be a way for some seller at ebay to do that. Guessing of course.

Cool, UUJ is your radio's code. This will help you look up the correct part numbers. There are several good companies that sell them on ebay, they also specialize in repairing broken ones and have excellent reviews. Buying from them will probably save you the programming expense/time.
