Button is one of 4 in a cluster to the left of the steering wheel. I have them and love them. They don't get me dirty when i get in or out and so far 12000 plus mile have had zero issues with them other then them being awesome! 12 degrees here in NY to and my door handles were frozen but the running boards slide out as designed.. :) Its one of my favorite options on the truck!

Am I blind?

I've seen pics before of this with Denalis with the retractible boards. Always wondered this.

The button should be where the hill descent control button is. What does that button do? I didn't think hill descent was an option on the Denalis?

Be funny if GM is installing the wrong button from the parts bin.

I actually created a thread about this a while back: http://tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67917

Retractable Runningboards

Well after 2 10-14 inch snowfalls and driving in both of them and afterward in all the slush and road junk the front part of the board on the drivers side got so coated with wet snow, slush and melted snow from when it was parked that it won't retract
There is so much stuff there that it tries to retract but then comes right back out again
Forcast for the next few days is a high of 18 and a low of -9 so I don't see much melting
Just have to keep an eye on it and when I see it building up try and clean it off before it freezes
At least we are one day closer to spring

Is there a way to retract them out and then unplug something to leave them down at all times?
