Hey all. Last week my remote start stopped working, and I got an engine light about the same time. Did some searching and I guess it is normal for remote start to quit when an SES is lit. My question is: Can I get my SES code without going by an Advance Auto to use their scanner? Wonder if there is some kind of method to pull the code using the ignition or something. Thanks for any help!

I dont think it is possible to check codes without a scanner. I remember on my old dodge dakota i could get codes to display where the odometer was without a scanner.

You can invest a small amount of money and get yourself a simple obd2 scanner and avoid going somewhere to have them checked.

With my dakota It was a process done through the ignition. Key in on position then off 3 times. Then it would display the code in the window where the digital odometer was.

Before i got my 07 escalade i had a 2012 ram 1500 and the only way to reset the oil change indicator was to put the ignition in the on position and hold the brake pedal down for 10 seconds.

Anyway there are processes that manufactures dont want you to know but they eventually leak out
