After noticing all the new Escalades and Denali's in my neighborhood I have to get on at least 22's but 24"s are not out of the question but my dilema is black or chrome??? I know the black wheel thing is huge rite now but I really like the look of chrome. So if you had to do it over again which would you go with.

My last question is what does the resonator really do? What can I expect to gain/lose by getting rid of it?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

If you have chrome trim on your vehicle go with chrome rims. If you go with black rims then make sure you black out all your trim. Both look great :IMO:

As far as the resonator it's pretty much like a secondary muffler that keeps your exhaust semi quite. Doing the resonator delete will just make your exhaust system in general a little bit louder and will not affect the performance at all.

Does not affect performance? Then why the heck is everyone eliminating them? smh... I thought you were going to tell me you gain 10hp but lose 2mpg then I would have had to make a decision! lol Honestly my truck is loud enough actually a tad too loude so I guess I will leave mine in! ;)

Deleting them is mostly for looks. That big resonator is an eye sore IMO

Lol delete it, all of our trucks have v8's that sound awesome with less restriction. I'd straight pipe mine if I could!!!

And on the wheel thing if you're like me with a nbs Denali black looks good cuz the only chrome is the grille and wheels, which is easily changed like mine. I'm painting my grill, losing the chrome Denali and gonna get some black wheels

Everyone eliminates them bc they look like ass lol. I honestly think the 6.2L stock is loud enough as well... which is why I didn't remove the resonator on my 6.2L and just put on a factory GM chrome tip bolted on to it:

On the other hand the 5.3L GMT900 vehicle's are really quite so doing the resonator delete actually makes it sound much better but still not as loud as a 6.2L stock.
