Recently purchased. 2012 Yuokon Denali that came with aftermarket chrome rims and low profile tires that we don’t like.
Current size is a 305/40 R22x10 with a 15 offset. After using my friend google I’ve learned the current tire size measures about 31.6” high.

Would I be correct in assuming that if I went with a 20” rim with similar offset and a tire close to 31.6” high the fit would be about the same and not rub? She doesn’t want anything that sticks out.

I found a set of 20x9.5 with a offset of 12(or -2, but I’m thinking these would stick out slightly) with a set of Good Year Duratracs in 275/55R20 which measure 31.9, is the .3 of an inch going to cause rubbing. I’m hoping this will be an acceptable option.

Thank you in advance.

I've got a 2007 Yukon XL Denali, and when I purchased it used, it had 275/60/20 Goodyear Wrangler SR-A tires on it. There was no rubbing anywhere, and the tires filled the wheel wells quite nicely. The tires in the front were within the wheel wells by about 1/2".

I've recently changed to 305/50x20 Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires, and while the minimum clearance has been reduced to 1/2", there is still no rubbing anywhere. The tires in the front protrude beyond the wheel wells by about 1/4", but would not be noticeable by most folks.

I am using the stock 20x8.5 chrome wheels with a 31mm offset.

I hope that this is helpful to you.

Stock tire size is 275/55-20, which has an OD of 31.9 inches. The stock offset is +31mm. So any wheel you get with less offset (smaller positive number) will stick out farther than stock (all else being equal).

If your new setup runs a little on hard right turns just pull the liner in a little and you’re good. I have 305/45/22 now and lowered 2/3 I pulled the liner back with no rubbing. You should be fine.

Defiantly helps, I'll look at this size a little more, I wouldn't mind sticking out slightly or flush.

This is kinda what I was thinking, and since we like the way it sits now, I was trying to find something to match what is currently on there, and think we just might be ok.

I was thinking this, I've heard it's not to difficult to do.

I know this is my wife's car and I have my own 04 Tahoe, but after driving hers around on the weekends (I have a company truck so we used to drive the Tahoe only on the weekend). I am very spoiled by the 6.2 along with all the comforts of the Denali package. But it's not easy to refrain from going overboard.

Thanks again or all the info, it's greatly appreciated.
